After a great Christmas, we are looking forward to the Annual Blessington Show Dance, which will be held at the Killashee House Hotel in Naas on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 7pm.
There are some great auction prizes, including a weekend for you and your friends at Cloghan castle, and a pair of Ruby Walsh's britches! Come and join us for this great night out.
This is always a great bash. You can follow this all on Blessington Horse Show's Facebook Page.
We are just back from Cavan International where in Saturday night’s feature jump off class, Edward and Samgemgee finished fourth and in the Grand Prix on Sunday, they were just pipped for the red rosette finishing as runner up in this hotly contested class. We now hope to head abroad for some indoor shows over the next few weeks.
On the breeding front, Edward and Catherine had further success when their amazing home bred ISH stallion Flexible, (Cruising ex Flex) won the World Cup Grand Prix qualifier at Rancho Murieta.
Samgemgee, Edward’s current international horse, (half brother to Flexible) stands with Hartwell Stud again next year.Edward Doyle will be a speaker at the Teagasc National Equine Conference to be held in Moorepark, Fermoy, Co. Cork. The conference is an all day event from 9.80am to 4pm on Tuesday, November 15th, 2011, with a focus on breeding, competition and development in the sport horse industry.
Edward was featured along with the other speakers in the November 5th edition of The Irish Field.

We head to France next weekend where the plan is to take in 3 indoor shows before we give the horses a well earned break. Samgemgee is in terrific form and has enjoyed his two weeks rest since Gijon. Dilligaf is a horse I really think of highly and taking him abroad will be helpful for his development and preparation for the coming year.
The horses returned home from Gijon all safe and well and will now take a well-earned break for two weeks. The plan then is to head off the first week in October and take in 3 to 4 shows in France and Italy. Both Edward and Edward Jnr. will travel on this trip.
Edward was delighted with Samgemgee's performance in the Grand Prix today. Speaking after the competition he said "In places the track was very big and in particular the last line. I felt we were unlucky not to go clear, but with the disadvantage of being the pathfinder and the optimum time being of importance, unfortunately we had the last fence down. Overall though, I was very happy as the horse handled this track very well."
