The Irish team for this week's Nations Cup, jumping in Copenhagen, Denmark, CSIO4* will be:
Dates & Times:
At today’s Grand Prix in Lummen Edward decided not to jump Samgemgee. The horse jumped great in the Nations Cup and with a lot of rain having fallen over the weekend he felt it was best to rest up and look ahead.
In an earlier class, the 1.35m CSI2*, Edward finished 3rd on the 14 yr old stallion TRADITION VAN DE BEGIJNAKKER for his good patron Manualla Martinally. This horse has just started competing again after a long lay off with injury and it was great to see him in the ribbons again.
Unfortunately Team Ireland didn't make it past the first round today, at the Nations Cup in Lummen.
Edward, though, was very pleased with Samgemgee as he jumped very well only to have a foot in the water, and as a result ended up with 4 faults. This was the stallion's first big track of the season and he acquitted himself superbly.
Tomorrow is a rest day and Edward and Samgemgee will jump in the Grand Prix on Sunday.
The Nations Cup of Belgium starts tomorrow in Lummen.
Edward is 3rd to go for Team Ireland. Lummen has had a lot of rain of the last few days, but the competition will go ahead. Edward jumped the course today. Samgemgee is in good form and going well.
