The homebred Sam Gamgee (Ramero B ex Flex) won the 7 yr old Championship at Dublin Horse Show on Saturday with a blistering jump off round clear to claim the title by over 2 seconds. This beautifully bred stallion is a half brother to both Flexible & Flexing and will now head to the World Young Horse Championships at Lanekin in September with Edward. In the 1.50m Irish Sport Council Classic Flexing finished 10th of 64 competitors and we will now look to go travelling with her in September.

Castellar, Noel Cawley's home bred stallion was victorious in the 5 yr old Grand Final of the 2009 Horse Sport Jumping series with Edward in the saddle at Tattersalls CSI** Show yesterday with a faultless display over two rounds. The weather unfortunately was pretty shocking and restricted our participation at this wonderful show. Flexing was 6th in the feature class on Friday, while Pamela finished 4th in the 1.40m class on Sunday.

We have had a good run over the last few weeks with Flexing proving to be ultra consistant. With placings in both the Ballivor Gr Prix, Saturday's feature class at Blessington 3 Day Horse show and a Gr Prix win at Kildare International centre on the 28th June. Meanwhile Frenz Z and Pamela returned to winning ways at the Blessington show.

We are just back from Mullingar CSI** where Flexing was unlucky not to finish further up the line in the Gr Prix when she had an unlucky rail off in the first round. She ended up in 7th place. We will take the next couple of weeks off and we are more than happy with how the horses are progressing.

After a weekend off we head to Balmoral CSI** with realistic hopes of a good show. The horses are in great form and we will rely on the two mares Flexing & Pamela to fly the flag for Punchestown House. Flexing will be saved for the Gr Prix classes while Pamela will be used for the Speeds.

The weekend turned out to be a good start to the outdoor season. Flexing was 3rd in Saturday's Gr Prix qualifier and went on to finish 3rd in the feature class on Sunday, the first of the Premier League Gr Prix's with a double clear. The younger horses are all jumping well and we were particularily pleased with Sam Gamgee who jumped a double clear in the 1.30m class on Sunday.

We are now into the last couple of days of April with the first of the Premier league Gr Prix's starting this coming Sunday in Louth County Show. We have had a quiet start to the year, whereby we have mainly concentrated on our young stock. We have attended some of the Guidam Spring shows and are now ready for the season ahead. Edward will partner Flexing and Sam Gamgee, while Edward jnr will partner The Last Orders Club's Arnold.

We have started to bring in most of the horses after a much earned break. We aim to start off the season by jumping in some of the National Guidam shows from the start of March. Edward has been busy holding training seminars throughout January, February and March. He will continue with this series of clinics throughout April.

We will then review where we are and make plans for the Summer.
